Experienced Electrical

Vail Resorts is seeking a full time, year round Building Maintenance Master Electrician. The Master Electrician will take the lead role in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing the Resort’s lighting and electrical systems while performing general maintenance tasks for the Resort’s unique infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Provide preventative and predictive maintenance of electrical systems, conduct daily rounds and readings
Lead successful installation and repair of electrical systems and wiring including but not limited to: power distribution systems, LED lighting systems, control systems, control panels,components of machinery and equipment, data and low voltage systems
Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily reports outlining progress and new issues
Identify when and external contractor/vendor is needed and work in collaboration with contractor/vendor to complete work
Develop and maintain inventories of electrical materials
Perform maintenance job functions as needed or directed, including but not limited to basic repairs of Resort’s MEP infrastructure, equipment and utilities
Participate in winterization and spring start-ups on applicable systems
Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and future workload; develop scope, options, and budgets for tasks and projects
Requisition materials, parts, tools equipment and services needed for work assignments; order and pick up materials and supplies from outside vendors as appropriate; prepare cost estimates for jobs
Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities
Identify cost saving opportunities and plan for system updates and efficiency improvements
Troubleshoot problems and provide technical assistance to staff in solving maintenance,mechanical and repair problems
Inspect work in progress and upon completion ensure that work complies with applicable codes and regulations
Read diagrams, blueprints, specifications and manuals for installations and repairs
Prepare a variety of correspondence, procedures and periodic and special reports of work performed
Use standard office equipment including a computer in the course of work
Drive company vehicles to work sites and attend meetings
Other duties as assigned

Required

High School graduate or equivalent
Valid State of Vermont Master Electrician license required
10 years minimum hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience
Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance and operational tasks
Ability to troubleshoot controls and electrical systems with amp meters, voltmeters, tracers and recording devices
Ability to trouble-shoot variable frequency drive (VFD) devices and controls
Thorough understanding of low voltage and high voltage systems
Thorough understanding of single phase and three phase AC circuits
Strong understanding of Vermont adopted electrical codes including NFPA 70E
Knowledge of fire alarm systems and operation
Knowledgeable in fire safety practices and aware of general liability exposures in a public facilities environment
Ability to read electrical schematics, electrical prints, wiring diagrams and nameplates
Extensive technical knowledge of the installation, repair and maintenance of facility systems
Ability to identify problems and effectively manage/troubleshoot issues in a timely fashion
Must be able to work individually/unsupervised as well as part of team
Must possess willingness to assist with the overall needs of the department and resort
Ability to communicate (spoken and written) effectively and clearly to customers and all levels of staff
Train and engage with other team members to develop their skills and your leadership experience
Basic computer skills in programs necessary to accomplish assigned duties
Lead with safety and lead by example – identify and correct safety improvement opportunities
Maintain a professional appearance and deliver exceptional guest service
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with seasonal weekend, night, and holiday requirements
Must be comfortable working outside in extreme weather conditions
Job requires standing for long periods of time, frequent walking, reaching, climbing and good balance, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, confined spaces, ladders (up to 40'), utility spaces, remote locations, and use resort transportation (ride lifts, groomer, ATV/UTV)
Valid US Driver's License – ability to drive various company vehicles
Knowledge of proper use of power tools, hand tools and other industry equipment
