Responsibilities
Build GAAP-accurate Excel schedules: revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock comp (ASC 718), deferred tax rollforwards, consolidation eliminations, etc
Create PowerPoint summaries of financial statement impacts, technical accounting memos, control observations, and policy implications
Simulate monthly/quarterly close packets, audit workpapers, tie-outs, flux analyses, and draft disclosures
Validate logic, reconcile flows, and ensure internal consistency at “audit-defensible” fidelity
Qualification
Required
Active CPA license (any state)
Strong command of U.S. GAAP and standard close/audit/reporting workflows
Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements, footnotes, and supporting workpapers
Advanced Excel skills modeling accounting mechanics (subledgers → journals → TB → FS)
Interest in improving AI's ability to reason about accounting and financial reporting
Preferred
2–10 years in public accounting (Big 4 or top regional) or corporate reporting
Experience with technical accounting, complex transactions, or SOX
T50 undergraduate or T20 master's in accounting or related field (optional)
