Responsibilities

Leads a team of Property Damage adjusters and Total loss adjusters (currently 6 positions) and ensures effective training, execution of claim management procedures, and compliance to regulatory and company standards and policies

Provides feedback and ongoing development of each adjuster, including documentation and conducting annual performance reviews

Ensures each Property Damage adjuster maintains accurate and comprehensive files, with proactive engagement and timely follow-up with all stakeholders

Engages in the resolution of complex issues, escalated complaints, and other challenges

Build and maintain positive business relationships and ensures highest level of service from both Property Damage and Total Loss adjusters

Ensures that Total Loss adjusters promptly confirm that vehicles have been released and picked up by our salvage vendor

Ensures that Total Loss adjusters accurately evaluate the value of each total loss and apply the appropriate condition rating and prior unrelated damage deduction

Review and approve drafts in the Manager’s absence

Communicate, report, and escalate issues to Claims Manager as necessary to advise on complex matters

Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, state law and regulations, and company policies and standards

Assess and recommend areas for improvement and actively engage in process improvement projects or activities as assigned

Back-up and support team members as needed to ensure a high-functioning department and consistent success in achieving goals and outcomes

Other duties as may be assigned by the Claims Manager

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Oklahoma Adjuster License required or ability to acquire within 60 days of employment

Depth of experience as a claims adjuster or similar role

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard web applications

Exceptional customer service and communication skills, demonstrating good judgement, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving

Highly organized with a planful and proactive, solution-oriented approach

Strong leadership and supervisory skillset to align the team to achieve objectives

Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, high-volume work environments with efficiency and a level-headed approach to team and individual accountabilities

Create and maintain depth of knowledge regarding insurance products, policies, and services, as well as a high degree of technical competency

Conducts all activities with integrity in alignment with Harbor Insurance Company principles and values
