Responsibilities
Review medical records to validate diagnosis coding aligned with ICD-10, HCCs, and regulatory guidelines
Identify documentation gaps and recommend improvements to maintain compliance and data integrity
Apply CMS risk adjustment standards and industry best practices to ensure accurate coding
Collaborate with coding teams and stakeholders to enhance documentation quality and compliance
Conduct gap analyses and provide clinical recommendations for improvement
Support remediation efforts for non-compliance issues through root cause analysis and corrective action planning
Offer expert guidance on coding requirements, documentation improvement, and risk mitigation strategies
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of professional coding experience in hospital or physician settings
LVN, LPN, or RN
CPC or CCS certification
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related field
Managed care experience
CRC, NP, or PA certification
