Responsibilities
Conducts traffic control at jobsites; operates crew vehicle
Assists with clearing of Public Utilities Rights-of-Way
Assists with loading the dump truck
Locates underground utilities
Assists with jetting functions to clean lines
Assists in the repair of water main breaks, and sewer main failures
Assists in the installation and repair of water meters, hydrants, valve boxes, water valves, mains, sewer cleanouts, and manholes
Performs building maintenance duties
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to perform heavy manual work for an extended period of time outdoors in varying climatic conditions
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
Ability to operate a dewatering pump
Ability to operate a tamp and various hand tools
Ability to communicate using oral and written skills
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Minimum age of 18
Valid NC Class 'C' driver's license
Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of construction equipment
Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and guidelines
Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of a water distribution system
Preferred
Experience performing related work in Water & Sewer Construction
