Project Management Officer
The DC Department of Human Resources is seeking a Project Management Officer for the Department of General Services. This role involves overseeing the management and implementation of construction and capital improvement programs for various user agencies and providing managerial direction in support of these operations.

Responsibilities
Serves as a key member of the Directors management advisory staff and participates in recommending and formulating policies and strategies
Utilizes expert leadership skills to provide managerial direction and guidance in support of the operation of the various programs within DGS
Provides authoritative direction and advice in administering applicable Laws and regulations governing the Capital Construction operations, employment law and regulations, budgetary requirements, and applicable regulations and other management issues
Serves as an expert technical authority and advisor to the Deputy Director and other D.C. Government officials, on all matters pertaining to Capital Construction and associated matters regarding the operation of the department
Participates in the development of the division's annual budget submission as related to the programmatic areas
Participates in identifying long-range goals and program delivery objectives for inclusion in the division's Annual Work Plans
Confers regularly with public and private sector experts to keep apprised of new or changing policies, positions, requirements and special priority matters, frequently deals with the departments and agencies of the District Government, Federal agencies, and community organizations on issues/matters of a sensitive and/or controversial nature that impact DGS
May act as the Deputy Director in the absence of the supervisor
Qualification
Required
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled
To be creditable, one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression
