Assistant Director, Graduate, Clinical & Professional Programs
The University of Southern California's Office of Student Accessibility Services (OSAS) is seeking an Assistant Director for Graduate, Clinical, and Professional Programs. This leadership role involves engaging in outreach and education related to accommodations for students with disabilities, while providing support to faculty and campus partners.

Responsibilities
Engaging in outreach, education and negotiation of accommodations particularly related to Graduate, Professional and Clinical programs
Providing direct student service, faculty and campus partner support, documentation review, and caseload management
Understanding and applying disability-related laws to routine and complex accommodation and service delivery, as well as to issue-identification and problem-solving
Maintaining current working knowledge of all relevant disability-related laws, and operating in accordance with FERPA guidelines
Guiding and negotiating complex student cases, particularly in-light of graduate, professional, clinical, licensure, and degree requirements related to external work placement settings
Addressing accessibility and accommodations in light of on-line learning processes and platforms
Providing multi-directional guidance to students, parents/guardians, OSAS staff, academic unit contacts, and other University personnel
Working efficiently under deadlines, managing details, and addressing multiple tasks with rapid response
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in relevant field (i.e. Education/Special Education; Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling Psychology; Higher Ed Administration/Student Affairs; etc.)
3-5 years working with students with disabilities in a higher education setting
Direct experience in higher education disability services
Comparable combination of relevant educational and professional experience to preferences above
Advanced knowledge of reviewing documentation, including but not limited to, medical, psycho-educational, and neuropsychological reports
Ability to quickly learn to review and assess a variety of documentation in accordance with laws and best practices
Ability to guide and negotiate complex student cases, particularly in-light of graduate, professional, clinical, licensure, and degree requirements related to external work placement settings
Established understanding of on-line learning processes and platforms
Perspective on addressing accessibility and accommodations in light of on-line learning environments
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to maintain appropriate professionalism in challenging communications
Ability to provide multi-directional guidance to students, parents/guardians, OSAS staff, academic unit contacts, and other University personnel
Ability to work efficiently under deadlines, manage details, and address multiple tasks with rapid response
Adept with basic Microsoft Office software, instant messaging programs, Zoom, and ability to learn and make effective use of the department's student records management database
Demonstrate a working knowledge of assistive technology in clinical settings
Strong commitment to USC's Unifying Values
Preferred
Doctoral Degree in relevant field (i.e. Education/Special Education; Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Counseling Psychology; Higher Ed Administration/Student Affairs; etc)
6-8 years working with students with disabilities in a higher education setting
Experience accommodating students in a clinical learning environment
