NEOGOV is seeking a Zoning Compliance Supervisor for the Town of Holly Springs in the Development Services Department. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the code compliance inspection and enforcement team, ensuring adherence to zoning ordinances and promoting community welfare.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership in attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to Town residents and businesses

Participates in the interview and selection process of new employees. Provides training and instructions. Assigns and reviews work and prepares performance evaluations. Recommends employee transfers, promotions, disciplinary action, and discharge

Provides leadership and management to all assigned staff. Supervises the work of and monitors and evaluates on-going performance of staff members; assesses and makes recommendations of training needs. Directs staff on interpreting the application of policy and procedure

Enforces the Town’s nuisance and zoning ordinances, as well as any other applicable land use regulation

Maintains a proactive approach by actively patrolling within the Town and its extra-territorial jurisdiction

Receives complaints and inquiries from the public; provides responses and follow-up as needed

Works with property owners and businesses to ensure timely compliance with all applicable requirements

Prepares and maintains detailed records of zoning and nuisance violations, complaints, and resulting compliance

Provides monthly and annual reports of enforcement activities

Researches and recommends changes or modifications to Town enforcement policy and applicable ordinances

Advises members of the general public, property owners, architects, engineers, developers, and other regarding policies, procedures, and standards

Analyzes and evaluates service delivery; meets with staff routinely to develop and improve service delivery plans, operational policy and procedures, updates, etc.; conducts needs assessments and recommends service priorities to Division Manager

Administers all programs assigned to the responsibility of the division and supervises the operations of assigned areas; ensures compliance with program requirements

Required

Associate's degree from an accredited college or technical school in a related field of study. Basic Law Enforcement Training is an acceptable alternative

Three (3) years' progressively responsible experience in planning, zoning, building construction or code enforcement; experience in reading site plans and engineering drawings

Must possess a current driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Must pass background and criminal history checks
