Supervisory Financial Management Specialist, SYD 84
The United States Space Force (USSF) is searching for a Supervisory Financial Management Specialist to work with programs at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. This role involves formulating and executing budgets, collaborating across functions, and proactively identifying budgetary risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities
Formulating and executing budgets in complex and volatile environments
Collaborating with various functions and between echelons to craft frequent responses to Congressional, OSD, and higher headquarters
Developing new analyses to proactively identify budgetary risks and opportunities
Maintaining detailed files to inform financial products
Proactively collaborate to produce and maintain financial analyses in advance of requests
Integrate data from program managers, engineers, contracting, cost, earned value, and other functions into budget products
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis
This position is part of the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet the functional area certification requirements within the timeframe range of 1-5 years from appointment date into the position. The employee and manager are responsible for ensuring completion within the given time period
Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, 'Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.' Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training
This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed 'Unscheduled Telework'
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year
Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments
PCS is not authorized. Incentive is not authorized
Preferred
A Certified Defense Financial Manager with Acquisition Specialty (CDFM-A) is preferred for this role
