Financial Wellness Coordinator
Southern Utah University is seeking a Financial Wellness Coordinator to enhance students' financial awareness and literacy. The role involves developing and implementing initiatives, overseeing outreach campaigns, and providing personalized support to students in achieving their academic and financial goals.

Responsibilities
Take ownership over a cohort of students and provide support for their continued success achieving their academic and financial goals by helping them address challenges inside and outside of school, including, but not limited to, developing successful financial habits, attaining work experience, financial aid assistance, referrals to on- and off-campus services as needed, etc
Support the Financial Wellness office's assessment and data analytics practices. Track and compile data on all students, faculty, and staff engaged through Financial Wellness initiatives and provide follow-up outreach as needed
Meet with incoming students during personalized visits to review their financial aid and develop a plan for paying for their college costs
Create educational events, presentations and curriculum on financial literacy topics to be shared with incoming and current students, parents, faculty, and staff such as FAFSA Nights and Financial February events
Supervise work study students. Ensure that their training is up to date, and assign tasks as necessary
Manage various scholarships for the office, including but not limited to the Utah Disadvantaged Fund and Retention Scholarship. Keep track of funds, maintain a spreadsheet to keep track of data, and serve as Chair of the approval committee to ensure funds are disbursed to students in need
Develop rapport and productive relationships with students, faculty and staff by creating engaging, responsive, and welcoming environments for individuals to grow and gain new skills
Create and share educational financial literacy content (especially video content, social media content, and presentations) with incoming students, current students, parents, faculty, and staff
Support the Financial Wellness office in its commitment to increasing access to educational advancement and gainful employment for underserved groups on campus

Qualification
Required
4 Year / Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including campus partners, faculty, and students
Preferred
Graduate degree in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel counseling, education, or closely related field
Knowledge of financial literacy and counseling issues, budgeting/debt reduction, problem-solving, and intervention strategies
Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal rules and regulations relating to higher education and/or Title IV regulations and financial aid processes
Experience supervising student workers and effectively leading them to successfully reach their goals
Proven self-motivation and organizational abilities to plan and independently execute projects/tasks within specific deadlines
Comfort with working directly with students in-person, via email, and through texting; must understand, or get to know, the culture of the division of Student Affairs and appropriate method(s) for student engagement
Demonstrated experience in successfully coordinating and overseeing large-scale events
Experience in using Canvas, Banner, Degreeworks, Google Suite
