Lab Supervisor
Carolina Health Specialists is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for their in-house lab in Myrtle Beach. The role involves organizing and directing laboratory activities, supervising personnel, and ensuring quality assurance and control while maintaining effective communication with outpatient offices.

Responsibilities
Day to day Laboratory operational oversight
Employee scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary action, resolution and management of employee related issues
Maintains and supports adherence to Carolina Health Specialists policy’s and OSHA safety procedures
Laboratory Liason between outpatient offices, sites and Laboratory Staff
Daily Quality Control, weekly review and resolution
Quality Assurance program oversight and continued development
Calibrations, linearities performance and documentation
QA functions including pending report overview
Assisting Laboratory Technical Staff with resolution of instrument issues and workflow
Work closely with Laboratory Services Director in updating and developing Laboratory procedures and policies
Clear and concise communication with the Laboratory Staff
Qualification
Required
ASCP Certification is required
At least 2 years of management experience
B.S. Degree, or equivalent preferably in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
3 to 5 years laboratory experience required, which includes at least 2 years in a management role
Knowledge and skills in laboratory operations
Knowledge of coding policies and procedures, reimbursement practices
Knowledge of health insurance processing and clinic operating policies
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Healthcare policies
Knowledge of Athena Practice Management system
Knowledge of Laboratory information systems
Knowledge of HIPAA policy and procedures
Knowledge of laboratory techniques in performing routine laboratory testing
Knowledge of startup and maintenance procedures for laboratory instrumentation
Knowledge of phlebotomy and specimen processing and collection techniques
Knowledge of company policies and protocols
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and DEHC regulations
Skill in operating a variety of laboratory instrumentation
Skill in preparing accurate QA reports
Skill in training staff and students
Skill in efficient and effective specimen collections
Skill in clear and concise interactions with staff and patients
Skill in identifying and resolving problems
Skill in investigating patient information to support testing
Skill evaluating and troubleshooting issues
Skill in organizing work and using time wisely
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions
Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
