Radiological Engineer

Responsibilities
Perform technical evaluations and provide technical support in source term, decay heat, onsite and offsite dose and dispersion analyses, keeping worker doses As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), and other radiological nuclear safety analyses
Effectively communicate and coordinate activities with the technical leaders, internal and external team members, project engineers, and customers on engineering/technical issues
Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GEVH engineering procedures
Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC, CNSC, or other regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Apply engineering fundamentals and first order engineering principles to establish and/or confirm expected results
Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline. Communicate effectively to leadership the status of work activities
Effectively manage multiple priorities
Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university
Preferred
M.S. or Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
Eager to learn and expand skills
Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
Experience with BWR technology and sodium fast reactor technology
Knowledge of plant operational support
Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
Experience with RADTRAD, ARCON, PAVAN, XOQDOQ, GALE, WinMACCS, SCALE, ORIGEN, MCNP, GASPAR, LADTAP
Object-oriented programming experience such as Python, C#, C++
