Responsibilities
Serve as a direct aide to the Traffic Studies Supervisor, focusing on the execution and evaluation of various engineering recommendations derived from comprehensive traffic studies
Analyzing factors related to speed limits, the implementation of multi-way stops, and the enforcement of turn and truck restrictions
Involved in the establishment of one-way and two-way street configurations, as well as conducting studies on passing zones and truck climbing lanes
Assessing intersection and stopping sight distances, identifying hazardous walking routes, and performing mid-block crosswalk studies, along with other investigations aimed at enhancing operational safety
Qualification
Required
Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
