Responsibilities

Advanced Electrical System Design & Analysis
Design and validate detailed single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams, and protection coordination schemes
Develop cable sizing, grounding layouts, and relay settings for safe and efficient operation
Conduct power system studies, including short-circuit analysis, load flow, harmonic analysis, and voltage regulation modeling
Evaluate transformer sizing, switchgear coordination, and arc flash studies to ensure proper protection and system stability
Optimize inverter and BESS control strategies to meet grid interconnection requirements and support grid services
Perform interconnection studies, including reactive power support, ride-through capability, and frequency response compliance
Utilize power system modeling tools (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) to simulate electrical behavior and optimize system performance
Support SCADA system design and communications infrastructure, ensuring compliance with utility and grid operator requirements
Provide technical evaluations for MV and HV electrical equipment, including breakers, relays, transformers, and inverters
Lead the review of electrical construction drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs)
Work with procurement teams to ensure electrical components meet technical and regulatory specifications
Support commissioning and startup activities, troubleshooting issues related to power conversion, interconnection, and SCADA integration
Ensure QA/QC standards are met for electrical system installations and performance testing
Ensure project compliance with NEC, IEEE 1547, UL 1741 SA, NFPA 70E, NERC, and FERC regulations
Work with utilities and regulatory bodies to facilitate interconnection agreements and grid compliance processes
Train and mentor junior electrical engineers, providing guidance on design best practices, power system analysis, and project execution
Assist in developing standardized electrical design methodologies and documentation processes
Stay updated on emerging PV and BESS technologies, regulatory changes, and power system advancements
Participate in industry events, technical training, and grid interconnection workshops
Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position

Required

4+ years of experience in power system design, interconnection modeling, and protection studies
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Proficiency in MV and HV system design, protection coordination, and interconnection modeling
AutoCAD (Proficient)
SKM, ETAP, EasyPower (Intermediate proficiency)

Preferred

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
PE License or NABCEP PV Professional
