School Assistant Registrar

Responsibilities

Serve as the front-line customer service representative to students, faculty, and staff
Manage cross-registration, reverse transfer, consortiums, and Non-Credit applications
Respond to and professionally manage Admissions@mtiofnewyork.com email while remaining in compliance with FERPA guidelines
Responsible for processing and approving student registrations and withdrawals
Represent the Office of the Registrar at the Student Solution Center by providing in-person support, including resolving registration, financial aid, and bursar issues
Process graduation applications and assist with TAP processing and audits
Responsible for the timely completion of all in-person and online transcript requests
Support, troubleshoot, and guide students, advisors, faculty, staff, and other departments within the college
Maintain the integrity, accuracy, retention, and security of student records
Ensure campus-wide compliance with FERPA regulations
Assist with managing student workers
Assist students with inquiries and issues in person and via phone while ensuring compliance with FERPA
Assist the Associate Registrar in providing leadership in the daily operations of the office and to provide a service-oriented office to students, faculty, staff, external office visitors and agencies

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
One (1) year of full-time and responsible experience in higher education to include customer service
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge and understanding of FERPA and student records privacy policies
Ability to display and execute good customer service skills and good listening skills
Cultural competence and ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with diverse constituencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a team
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute tasks with strong attention to detail
Availability and ability to work a flexible schedule during peak periods, including evenings and/or weekends

Preferred

Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Reporting experience
