Lead Spacecraft Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Engineer

The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Spacecraft Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Engineer to support the Electrical Systems Engineering Team in El Segundo, CA. Responsibilities

Develop C&DH subsystem architectures for Millennium space vehicles, driving system-level design decisions
Select avionics and onboard processing units balancing performance, power, mass, cost, and flight software needs
Perform requirements definition and flow down and manage interface and verification activities
Lead identification and resolution of technical issues during design, integration, and test phases
Create and maintain detailed netlists defining vehicle electrical connectivity
Perform data budget analyses and ensure positive margins for telemetry, command, and onboard processing
Conduct signal integrity studies to inform transmission line and interface designs
Validate C&DH architectures against fault management requirements including redundancy and error detection
Select and analyze oscillators and clock distribution schemes and perform timing, drift, and jitter analyses
Analyze serial and analog interfaces for compatibility, grounding, signal levels, and EMI considerations
Own vendor selection and trade studies and develop make or buy recommendations
Collaborate with Flight Software, Harness, EGSE, and multidisciplinary subsystem teams
Provide technical, cost, and schedule status updates and present designs and risks at SRR, PDR, CDR, and customer reviews

Required

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Detailed knowledge of electrical hardware and avionics systems
Strong methodical design, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance post start is required
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. 'U.S. Person' includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Preferred

Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
Familiarity with industry standards for aerospace avionics and electrical hardware
At least 2 years of experience as a Responsible Engineering Authority, Project Lead, Control Account Manager, or equivalent
Familiarity with government and DoD cybersecurity standards and their implementation
