Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract, source, and hire qualified candidates for roles in freight brokerage, sales, operations, and support functions
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing (via LinkedIn, industry networks, job boards, and referrals), screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and on-boarding
Partner closely with hiring managers and department leads to understand staffing needs, define role requirements, and create compelling job descriptions tailored to the logistics industry
Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for high-turnover roles like freight brokers and sales agents, utilizing proactive sourcing techniques and industry-specific networks
Supervise and mentor a team of recruiters, providing training on best practices, interviewing techniques, and compliance with labor laws
Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness) to optimize processes and report on performance to leadership
Enhance employer branding through participation in industry events, job fairs, and online communities focused on transportation and logistics
Ensure a positive candidate experience and compliance with all relevant employment regulations
Stay current on trends in the freight brokerage and 3PL industry to inform sourcing and retention strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
Proven track record in high-volume recruiting, ideally within logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, supply chain, or sales-driven industries
Strong understanding of freight brokerage operations, including roles like freight brokers, carrier sales, and account management
Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing tools
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with a focus on meeting hiring targets
Preferred
Experience recruiting commission-based sales roles in competitive markets
Familiarity with compensation structures common in freight brokerage (base + commission)
