Stand is a new technology and insurance company revolutionizing how society assesses, mitigates, and adapts to climate risks. The Head of Finance Operations will own Stand’s internal finance function, ensuring rigorous financial processes that support the company's growth and capital markets strategy.

Responsibilities

Own Stand’s core finance activities: forecasting, reporting, budgeting, burn management, SaaS/vendor spend

Build and maintain financial models for revenue, growth, expense structure, and scenario planning

Manage disciplined expense processes — ensuring every dollar is accountable and aligned with growth priorities

Oversee accounting and financial controls (directly or by managing a CPA/controller)

Ensure timely and accurate closes, audits, and investor reporting

Maintain strong financial hygiene across captive, reciprocal, and corporate entities

Manage filings, compliance, bank accounts, and statutory/regulatory reporting for insurance entities

Ensure reporting integrity across multiple regulated entities

Partner with auditors, regulators, and external accounting providers

Translate financials into operating levers for leadership decision-making

Support capital raising, reinsurance negotiations, and strategic planning alongside the CEO

Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Underwriting, and Operations to align finance with company priorities
