Parts Inspector

The Parts Inspector is responsible for the quality, cost, and schedule of inspection operations, including visual and dimensional inspections of turbine engine parts and power generation package parts.

Responsibilities
Receive orders and validate part quantities and completeness of instructions
Perform visual and dimensional inspections
Set up and calibrate dimensional equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects)
Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
Organize, record, report and file inspection results
Perform other job tasks as assigned by supervision
Pass certification tests in applicable inspection methods to advance skills and position level
Operate cranes and vehicles
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
Technical understanding of inspection methods and procedures
US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa
Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred
Meet or exceed core competency expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance/punctuality, and teamwork
Mechanical aptitude and use of common hand tools
Read and interpret drawings and specifications
Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks and interpret results of inspections
Basic knowledge of dimensional measuring tools
