Finance Analyst - 36-month Rotation Program

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an entry level Finance Analyst - 36-month Rotation Program. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services, allowing analysts to build relationships with senior finance leadership through three developmental rotations.

Responsibilities

Providing complete financial analysis support and control
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet and P&L data for senior management
Develop company operating plan and forecast updates
Monitoring actual results compared to plan/forecast and identifying variances
Preparing and presenting summary financial status reports to management and customers
Performing month-end and quarter-end close activities
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements to GD Corporate office
Examines and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control
Performs assigned audits in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
Responsible for planning audit work, performing fieldwork testing, preparing work papers and reporting audit findings and recommendations for process improvements to management
Conducts entrance and exit conferences for audits
Updates desk manuals, policies, and procedures to improve internal controls and compliance systems
Provides financial support to management by analyzing actual department costs, rate performance, and researching charges to assist in controlling costs and meet budgeted targets
Develops chargeback and overhead rates, used to cost and price government contracts, within Facilities, Environmental Health and Safety, Communications, Customer Service, Community Service, and Labor Overhead charge backs
Prepare journal entries for costs that are accrued in one account to charge costs back to the benefiting departmentsPrepare Incurred Cost Proposal schedules in accordance with the government's Incurred Cost Electronic (ICE) Model. Work with various functions across the business to compile, review and analyze business system data ensuring accuracy and consistency
Support government audit data requests and other ad hoc requests for information from both internal and external customers
Review incurred costs and evaluate for allowability referencing Contract Cost Principles (FAR Part 31)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance may be required after hire
U.S. citizenship is required
General knowledge of internal General Ledger Accounting, Rates and Compliance, and Cost Proposal functions
General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Solid computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
General knowledge of PowerBI and a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts and their applications in financial analysis
Developing analytical skills including ability to analyze data and reconcile financial accounts
General knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulation, General Dynamics Systems and policies, Government Accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Earned Value Management System
General knowledge of revenue recognition concepts and Accounting for Government contracts
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team process skills
Interpersonal skills

Applicants must exemplify excellent analytical and risk management skills and demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication skills, and an interest in advancing the business and their careers
Must be able to travel 10% of the time
Experience in EXCEL, WORD and PowerPoint
Must be capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance
