Rakuten Advertising is a leader in advertising technology and consumer insights. They are seeking a Contract Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support to various teams and ensure compliance with legal and commercial regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic commercial and legal advice to internal teams (e.g., sales, client services, product, operations) on a variety of legal and compliance issues

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, confidentiality agreements, order forms, statements of work, RFPs, client contracts, partnership agreements, and vendor/supplier agreements

Conduct face-to-face negotiations with clients and partners

Advise on and draft privacy-related documentation, such as privacy policies, and data sharing agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)

Monitor and analyse existing and proposed legislation and regulations (e.g., in privacy, contract, and advertising law) to ensure business compliance and provide sound commercial advice

Develop and deliver training to business teams on contract and compliance matters

Contribute to the development and improvement of internal policies and processes

Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities and proactively manage legal issues relevant to the industry
