Responsibilities
Perform independent, complex, technical, and quantitative research, and statistical work necessary to accomplish the objectives and tasks of the Intakes & Enforcement Analytics Section related to licensing and certification regulatory requirements and enforcement activities
Extract data from various sources, interpret, summarize, document and create analytic working files for use within the Section
Develop statistical measures and reports for dissemination to staff, stakeholders, and the public
Act as a resource to staff regarding development and implementation of performance measures, benchmarks, and the utilization of data management, analytical, and reporting software
Develop measures, analytic datasets, pivot tables, reports, and presentations
Apply knowledge and proficiency with SAS, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerBi, Azure, Tableau, Toad™ Data Point (SQL), and/or Microsoft stack software (Server Integration Services [SSIS], SQL Server Reporting Services [SSRS], and SQL Management Studio) in performing assignments
Collaborate with fellow research staff, auditors, CHCQ management, health care facility personnel, contractors, other Departmental staff, and various other external parties
Qualification
Required

Work under the general direction of the Research Data Supervisor II
Be a California resident prior to appointment and maintain California residency as a condition of employment

Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee’s designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions.
In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
