Responsibilities

Business Analysis - Plan, design and implement Campus Solutions Information System solutions to meet business requirements. Collaborate with groups and individuals related to student financials set up by gathering requirements for yearly and quarterly implementation into the Peoplesoft system. Analyze customer needs and requests by working with the subject matter expert and recommend potential desired outcomes by applying advanced knowledge of enterprise system concepts and practices as the subject matter expert of CS. Translate business requirements into technical requirements by working with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to refine and clarify the need to gain an understanding of the gap and/or issue to define a solution. Research, design and implement solutions that enhance the Campus Solutions Information System by creating value and/or efficiencies for Campus Solutions and the end users. Document requirements, findings, decisions, and next steps (if applicable). Provide support, training, and assistance to users by analyzing and researching the issue and determining best course of action
Define and refine configuration guidelines, best practices, and prohibitions for Student Financials setup and Campus Solutions Information System. Review large volume or recurring setup Analyze configuration options for readability, reproducibility, and consistency. Designate the best configuration option for each setup cluster. Identify any options that should NEVER be used and clearly document why. Establish internal audit protocol for each setup cluster
Troubleshoot system issues. Search system documentation and support forums. Analyze computer language code, scripting language code, and structured query language statements. Attempt to replicate issues in non-production environments. Generate and review trace files. Diagnose reported system incidents. Resolve the incident, or determine next steps
Facilitate proper system use by maintaining system documentation for end user reference end user business process guides. Create/update end user business process guides. Create/update end user training materials
Systems and system integration maintenance. Review software changes in integrated systems. Update and validate system configuration. Create/apply patches to resolve issues that impact areas of support. Communicate the downstream impact of system and configuration changes
Create communication data sources and templates. Review verbiage and formatting, and provide recommendations. Separate the communication into static and dynamic elements. Map the dynamic elements to system data. Create data source queries to retrieve the data. Create communication templates that merge the static and dynamic elements. When possible, create population selection queries to identify valid recipients
Provide queries and reports to ensure system integrity, enable university services, and facilitate informed decisions. By request, or self-directed, map information needs to system data. Ensure recipients have clearance for the requested data. Write SQL statements/queries to pull the requested data. Create data transformation templates that optimize the data for end user consumption (graphs, charts, data aggregations, file type conversion, etc.)
Evaluate and map software solutions to business objectives. Identify the benefits, costs, and issues that would result from the addition, modification, or retirement of university software systems, software features, or changes to business processes. Determine options for issue mitigation. Provide findings and recommendations to departments and committees
Establish development and testing plans. Create/update process flowcharts. Establish how objectives/metrics will be measured. Coordinate the creation of test case scenarios and starting data inputs. Review testing outcomes and lead group resolution of issues
Design software and business process enhancements and integrations. By request, or self-directed, investigate how business objectives could be easier to achieve by enhancing software systems, modifying how systems are integrated, or changing how end users utilize information systems. Consult with information services, departments, and committees to determine whether proposed changes are viable and which requirements require further investigation before development could begin. Document findings, decisions, and next steps (if any)
Change and Project Management. Organize and implement new systems for areas of support. Establish software testing plans and validation procedures for specified Campus Solutions Information System modules in support of system upgrades/enhancements. Coordinate the creation of test case scenarios and expected outcomes. Review and verify testing outcomes to ensure changes and/or additions have not had unforeseen negative consequences to ERP processes. Resolve unexpected outcomes and/or issues. Follow established change management processes to migrate the change to production environments
System Security. Receive requests for Campus Solutions system access, do analysis, obtain required approvals and request via the ticketing system as a service request. Develop and design security based on access requests and/or new functionality. Ongoing review of system security role assignments. Review, analyze and respond to system security audits and issues
System Integrations. Review software requests/changes and interact with third party vendor to determine extent of integration. Identify and map data components between systems to allow for the exchange of data. Configure or update system configuration working with appropriate integration specialist. Document integration details and maintenance

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology administration, or a related field
5+ years experience in application business analysis
Previous experience working with PeopleSoft modules
Proven experience in a customer service environment
Demonstrated ability and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or colleagues to foster a supportive and effective learning and work environment
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Preferred

Proven experience in a customer service Environment
Ability to incorporate a variety of perspectives and relevant societal issues into everyday conversations
1+ years of structure query language (SQL) experience
Proven experience in application solution design and implementation
Experience with a purchased student information system such as PeopleSoft
Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote institutional success
Demonstrated experience in application of rules, policies, laws, and logic to student financials determinations
