The Commonwealth of Kentucky offers a position for a Supreme Court Staff Attorney within the Administrative Office of the Courts. This role involves supporting a Supreme Court justice by performing various legal tasks including reviewing legal briefs, conducting legal research, and preparing legal documents.

Responsibilities
Review legal briefs and appellate records, ensuring thorough understanding and organized documentation
Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis of case materials for court cases
Prepare and edit drafts of opinions, orders, and judgments under guidance
Proofread legal documents
Communicate with attorneys upon the direction of the judge
Monitor for and provide summaries of recent legal developments and decisions
Perform other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor degree – Graduate of an accredited law school
Must be licensed and in good standing with Kentucky Bar Association (KBA). Exception: Attorneys holding a current license in a U.S. state other than Kentucky must be making every necessary step to become licensed with the KBA within eighteen (18) months of employment
Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and produce clear, persuasive, and well-structured written work
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Meticulous attention to detail
