Responsibilities

Performs patient care duties and activities of nursing assistant and scrub tech as directed by Registered Nurse

Assists in transporting patients between departments

Maintains cleanliness and safe environment of labor and delivery rooms in the birthing center

Prepares labor and post-partum rooms for patient occupancy and assists with clean up

Sets up sterile equipment for deliveries and washes instruments and prepares them for sterilization

Assists and scrubs in the Operating Room for obstetric and gynecological procedures such as c-sections, etc

Performs daily clerical routine and data entry into EMR record such as admitting patients, patient billing, and collection of data for birth certificates and medical records

Qualification

Required

High School graduate or equivalent required

Current certification on IDPH's Healthcare Worker Registry required

Current CPR certification with the American Heart Association

Preferred

Tech certification preferred

Previous Obstetric and/or Scrub Technician experience preferred
