Staff Development Specialist/UKHC

UK HealthCare is responsible for providing comprehensive health services, and they are seeking a Staff Development Specialist for their Nursing Practice and Support Services department. This role focuses on the education and development of nursing staff within the Oncology Service line, ensuring competency and professional growth through oversight and guidance.

Responsibilities

Develops implements and evaluates educational strategies and programs
Identifies trends in patient outcomes to determine performance improvement activities
Provides support and clinical expertise to facilitate/coordinate progress toward meeting performance improvement goals
Integrates research, evidence based knowledge of nursing and resource management into practice environment
Participates in the development of health care policy and related education within the institution and community
Assists in facilitating transition to practice for the new graduate
Serves as a clinical resource and change agent
Demonstrates excellent leadership, teaching, interpersonal skills and an understanding of organization and systems

Active RN licenseMSNMaster's DegreeOncology experienceAHA Basic Life SupportTeaching skillsLeadership skillsInterpersonal skills

Required

MSN or Master's Degree in related field with accompanying Baccalaureate in Nursing
3 years of related experience
Active Kentucky RN or compact state RN license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), or active compact state RN license that is in good standing
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider valid for at least 6 months after employment
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently
Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time
Ability to work day shift primarily, but other shifts and weekends as needed to meet the needs of the department

Preferred

MSN and 3 years Oncology experience preferred
Previous experience as an educator preferred
