The Technician, Apprentice is responsible for coordinating and performing routine Planned Maintenance Services and diagnosing and repairing products, including industrial batteries and chargers.

Responsibilities
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Execute planned maintenance agreements, including:
Battery inspections, battery watering, battery washing, and recording of cell voltages and specific gravities
Charger inspections, calibrations, and adjustments
Coordinate problem resolution with Technical Support, Customer Service, Sales, and other personnel to expedite repairs
Travel to other branches or sites, as required, to assist with product installation, removal or repairs (some overnight travel will be required)
Comply with company policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT and Hazmat
Follow all safety regulations, including site specific safety regulations established by customers
Build strong relationships with customers
Take ownership of all company assets, including but not limited to vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Complete all service orders, PM worksheets, timecards, expense reports, and any documentation as required, in an accurate and timely manner
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
High School or GED Diploma required
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
May be required to pass additional requirements under the Department of Transportation (DOT)
Working knowledge of basic AC and DC electrical/electronic theory
Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
Ability to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across offices
Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs
Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization
Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment
A valid driver's license, CDL a plus but not required
Willingness to work occasional overtime
Intermittent travel expected within designated territory, home most nights
Travel daily, some overnight travel required
Preferred
Certification from a technical school focused on electrical, mechanical repair or battery maintenance preferred
Associate degree from an approved two-year college or university, preferred or equivalent experience
