Responsibilities
Participates in the administration of department operations
Personnel activities
Planning activities of the Highway Division
Manage and direct the construction activities of the Highway Division
Manage the plan development, preliminary engineering, and design of construction projects
Maintain and deliver the County and Township structure replacement program
Manage the Solid Waste Division
Oversee Recycling Center Operations
Supervise the day to day job assignments of the engineering technicians and seasonal personnel
Supervise construction of Parks & Recreation development
Represent the County and the Department at meetings
Serve as Department Head in the absence of the Public Works Director
Qualification
Required
Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota
Valid Class D driver's license
Preferred
Eight years progressively responsible experience in highway public works or closely related field including aspects of highway design, highway maintenance and planning
Five years of increasingly responsible leadership/management experience in public works, civil engineering or closely related field
Three years of work-related experience in setting priorities, directing, training, supervising and evaluating full-time and part-time employees
