They are seeking a Technical Writer with a strong engineering background to create clear documentation that translates complex engineering concepts into understandable content for various audiences. This role will involve collaborating with teams to develop work instructions and standard operating procedures, while continuously improving documentation quality.

Responsibilities

Create Work Instructions and SOPs so people can easily follow step-by-step processes

Work with manufacturing to develop Work Instructions for production use

Work with engineering teams to document SOPs

Help other teams organize their information assets

Translate complex engineering concepts into easy-to-understand explanations

Work with operators, engineers, manufacturing technicians, and outsource partners to improve documentation and improve accuracy

Continuously refine our approaches to ensure the highest quality documentation collaboratively with your team

Learn new tools and practices that can improve our docs and processes

Keep an eye on user feedback and champion documentation improvements whenever needed

Required

Technical or engineering background, or BS/BA with equivalent work experience

2-5 years of experience in a technical writer, product manager, engineering, or field support engineering role

Strong understanding of Technical Writing principles that you can demonstrate through past writing samples

You bring a 'startup mentality' to the table, proactively tackling challenges and seeking solutions collaboratively

You know how to talk to research engineers, manufacturing technicians, and applications engineers to get the info you need and translate it into clear, concise documentation

You are comfortable talking to and questioning people in all parts of the organization at all levels

Basic understanding of content development cycles and documentation best practices

Ability to break down technical concepts so anyone can grasp them

Comfort with shifting priorities, quick changes, and rapid response

Ability to manage competing demands and convey changes in priorities and expected delivery schedule to managers and partner teams

An interest in technical and scientific fields including electronics, electrical engineering, chemistry, additive manufacturing, and materials science

A growth mindset, where you are interested in learning about the technology and in expanding your skillset
