Ocean Export Coordinator
Mallory Alexander International Logistics is a global third-party logistics company headquartered in Memphis, TN, seeking a Logistics Professional to join their team. The Export Coordinator will be responsible for researching rates, maintaining awareness of regulations affecting international cargo movement, and coordinating the logistics of shipments.

Responsibilities
Select shipment routes, based on nature of goods shipped, transit times, or security needs
Classify goods according to Schedule B
Determine efficient and cost-effective methods of moving goods in accordance with rate explorer, tariffs, and FMC, and other regulatory requirements
Arrange for special transport of cargo as necessary or requested by customer
Provide quotes to both internal and external customers based on shipment characteristics, service level, and port requirements
Calculate weight, volume, or cost of good to be moved
Coordinate container loading, including live load, drop and pick up, and drayage
Coordinate movement of shipments to port via rail or truck
Arrange bookings with steamship lines via phone, internet, or portals
Produce and transmit shipping instructions to steamship lines
Obtain or arrange cargo insurance
Pay or arrange for payment of freight, and insurance fees, or other charges
Communicate with vendors
Track and trace shipments in route to ports and with steamship lines
Communicate and follow up with customers regarding complaints, questions, and other special instructions
Prepare customer invoicing and consol billing, ensuring rates applied meet FMC Rules
Prepare documentation meeting all documentary requirements for entry into foreign commerce
Coordinate destination delivery or storage arrangements with Foreign Agent Network
Negotiate with Bank Letter of Credit shipments including documentation
The Export Coordinator may be able to perform Import duties as needed
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of experience required
Transportation and International Logistics industry experience required, Exports preferred
Min 3 years of high level customer service experience
Strong communication skills required, including the ability to quickly respond to requests for assistance or information
Ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to meet deadlines
Must have demonstrated critical thinking skills and be process oriented
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Logistics preferred, but not required
Cargowise knowledge preferred
