Surgical Technology Program Director
ECPI University is seeking a Surgical Technology Program Director to oversee their Surgical Technology program at the Richmond, VA campus. The role involves managing classroom instruction, program performance evaluations, faculty recruitment, and ensuring the academic success of students and graduates.

Responsibilities
Classroom instruction
Creates and maintains an environment conducive to learning; employs instructional technology and active learning approaches in order to enhance the learning experience
Oversees the academic progression and graduation of students
Participates in the academic advisement and counseling of students
Provides opportunities for student and graduate evaluation of curriculum, teaching and program effectiveness
Evaluates program performance using a variety of assessments and techniques
Maintains and submits accurate program records according to established deadlines
Coordinates the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of program curricula, text books and course content in accordance with program standards, institutional needs and changing needs of employers
Works with Campus President to ensure schedules are efficient and accurate
Participates in scheduled in-service activities to include, but not limited to, training, open houses, orientations, faculty meetings, committees, conferences, and graduation/student awards ceremonies
Assists in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding and evaluation of faculty
Conducts regular faculty meetings and in-services
Reviews end-of-course evaluations of faculty at the end of each module
Ensures faculty are current in licensure, certification and professional development
Stays current in subject matter through professional development
Commits to ongoing professional development; ensures program faculty remain current in trends, issues and practices in the field, as well as effective teaching strategies and assessment methods
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree in the specialty field or teaching discipline, AND a Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited educational institution required
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
3 years of operating room experience or teaching in the field within the last five years or a combination of the two prior to hire date
Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to manage in an academic organization
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadline
Demonstrated experience with academic planning, including program development and innovation; strategic planning; and financial management
Demonstrated commitment to diversity among students, faculty and staff
Curriculum development
Exceptional interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with regional accreditation process
Ability to create and maintain relationships
Motivated, self-starter and ability to work independently
Problem-solving ability
Working knowledge of computer applications and the ability to quickly learn new computer software
Preferred
Experience with distance learning or learning management systems (LMS)
