Responsibilities
Follow instructions from MDE chemists while proactively building strong relationships with internal customers
Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot GCMS instruments to ensure optimal performance
Prepare samples, calibrate instruments, test samples, and deliver accurate, timely results in a fast-paced environment
Separate, identify, and quantify impurities and target compounds
Set up and conduct materials outgassing and experimental work, including developing procedures, performing experiments, and maintaining detailed records
Manage laboratory inventories, including reagents, gas cylinders, and consumables
Clean, package, and ship sampling kits to customers for sample collection
Support flexible work schedules to accommodate manufacturing sample requirements
Qualification
Required
Technical school or equivalent vocational training with at least 3 years of relevant work experience (AA degree or equivalent required)
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science
Experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory
Ability to read complex technical drawings and apply mathematics, handbook formulas, and precision testing and measuring instruments
