Responsibilities
Develop, configure, and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate risks
Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats in real time
Collaborate with IT and development teams to design secure system architectures and implement security controls
Investigate security breaches and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies
Create and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident reports
Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering or a similar role with hands-on experience in security technologies
Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security frameworks
Experience with security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cybersecurity
Preferred
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or GIAC
Experience with cloud security technologies and platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Background in incident response and digital forensics
Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools for security operations
Experience working in agile development environments and integrating security into DevOps processes
