Responsibilities

Work on NIH and other externally or internally funded projects with a focus on vascular biology, diabetes (and its complications), and/or cancer
Work with the PI and other team members (including bioinformaticians, bench scientists, statisticians, and physician scientists) to perform experiments using cell culture, animal models, and human tissues, conduct bioinformatics analysis for high-throughput sequencing data, and report research findings in scientific publications and oral/poster presentations at select scientific conferences
Be strongly encouraged to apply intramural or extramural funding for career development

Required

A M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree in life sciences

microsurgery skills (e.g., dissection, ligation, suture)
vascular/endothelial biology
stem cell biology
RNA/chromatin biology
immunohistochemistry
immunology
sequencing analysis and bioinformatics
flow cytometry and imaging-based analyses
tissue processing
3D/organoid culture
nanomedicine
Preferred research in one or more of these areas: cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, or aging
