Art Specialist

Responsibilities
Teach art skills using person-centered methods tailored to each individual’s strengths and interests
Plan, coordinate, and lead art experiences in both onsite and community settings
Assist with tagging, framing, displaying, and rotating artwork for shows, exhibits, and agency events
Support individuals in building daily living, communication, and social skills
Provide transportation as needed to help individuals access activities and resources
Teach skills that promote independence, choice, and meaningful participation in activities
Implement individualized support plans, goals, and activities as written
Maintain accurate documentation of progress, activities, and supports
Advocate for the rights, dignity, and preferences of each person supported
Administer medications and first aid following agency guidelines
Monitor health needs, report concerns promptly, and ensure safe environments at all times
Follow emergency procedures and provide safe transportation
Maintain fiscal accountability when handling program or participant funds
Build strong partnerships with individuals, families, co-workers, and community members
Participate in staff meetings, committees, and in-service trainings
Model teamwork, positive communication, and sound judgment
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
At least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and safe driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet physical requirements of the role
Preferred
Experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred
Ability to teach and support meaningful art experiences
Crisis prevention/intervention skills or willingness to obtain training
