As a Highway Technician II, you will perform advanced level work in roadway and highway roadside maintenance and construction projects, including operating heavy equipment and overseeing small resurfacing projects.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of advanced level work such as layout concrete forms, repair equipment, install pillings, excavate using boom equipment, haul heavy equipment, and install thermoplastic pavement markings

Operates heavy equipment and oversees small resurfacing projects, inspections, checks final bills and estimates

Plans, oversees, and evaluates project construction and maintenance contract tasks such as small resurfacing projects

Reviews certification of tests and performs inspections and reviews project costs, revisions, and project scheduling

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High school graduate

Must have eight years of construction or highway maintenance experience

Must be 18 years of age

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Must possess a Class A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement

The employee must successfully complete the KYTC Highway Technician Academy Level 3 or equivalent within one year of employment in this job classification

Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification
