Responsibilities
Serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with reporters, editors, and producers
Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies that align with client goals and deliver measurable results
Proactively pitch stories and secure earned media coverage across traditional, digital, and broadcast platforms
Draft, edit, and oversee a variety of written content, including press releases, statements, op-eds, media advisories, fact sheets, talking points, and promotional materials
Provide strategic counsel and crisis communications support during high-pressure situations
Ensure message consistency and integration across all channels, including digital and print
Collaborate with creative and digital teams to produce engaging multimedia content
Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing communications team
Contribute to overall agency leadership as part of the senior management team
Qualification
Required
Extensive media relationships and the ability to pitch and place stories at national, state, and local levels
Deep understanding of the media cycle, newsroom operations, and current trends in journalism and public relations
Exceptional writing and editing skills, including proficiency in AP Style and journalistic standards
Strategic thinking and storytelling ability with a focus on delivering results for clients
Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills
Comfort and proficiency in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
Working knowledge of content management systems, social media platforms, digital marketing, SEO, and analytics
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in media relations, journalism, public relations, or strategic communications
Proven track record of securing high-profile media coverage and managing media campaigns
Experience managing digital content and integrating traditional and digital communications strategies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
