Merchandise Development Coordinator

Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Project Coordinator to support a large retail product development program. This role involves coordinating product information and supporting the execution of product development initiatives from concept through manufacturing and launch.

Responsibilities

Complete and maintain product specification sheets for all new items
Assist in obtaining and comparing competitive factory quotes
Gather, validate, and enter product data (dimensions, weights, packaging details, images) into retailer and internal systems
Assign and track UPCs, item numbers, and stock codes for new products
Submit creative job requests outlining design needs for presentations and production artwork
Proof product and packaging files prior to production release; route files for internal approvals
Distribute final product files and specifications to manufacturing partners and Quality Assurance teams
Coordinate required product review processes, including photography and digital content, ensuring deadlines and standards are met
Coordinate testing applications and certifications (e.g., sustainability, RFID, recycling compliance)
Partner with Quality Assurance to help schedule and track factory inspections during production
Support Purchasing by maintaining accurate product data within ERP systems, including specifications, costs, delivery dates, and item numbers
Track all incoming and outgoing product samples between factories and review locations
Review samples for accuracy and alignment with approved specifications
Prepare and organize samples for buyer reviews, internal presentations, and seeding programs
Coordinate mock-up samples to support sales and account timelines
Maintain organized sample storage, including unpacking, labeling, inventory tracking, and organization
