Responsibilities

Own, document, and evolve the full systems architecture of Lola Blankets - across all channels, products, partners, and capabilities

Define clear systems of record (inventory, order state, fulfillment, financials) in close collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Analytics teams - and partner closely with Analytics to ensure all data used in company decision-making is reliable, accurate, and correctly sourced

Create the long-term Lola Blankets tech stack vision, select capable platforms and partners, and build reliable, scalable integrations between them

Pressure-test architecture for flash sales, traffic spikes, and peak seasons

Partner with our Ecommerce Director and external webdev agency to roadmap, build, and de-risk Lola’s Shopify storefront; serve as internal technical expert of Shopify Plus and its ecosystem

Help Ecommerce team evaluate solutions, apps, integrations, and customizations through a systems-risk lens

Ensure Shopify inventory, order, and fulfillment behaviors align with backend systems

Design, implement, maintain, and improve wholesale order flows for both EDI & non-EDI customers - reducing risk of oversells, delays, chargebacks, or discrepancies

Ensure reliable integration between wholesale channels, WMS, ERP, and finance

Implement and maintain all technical elements needed for non-EDI orders to also be received, processed, and accounted seamlessly

Own inventory flow logic across ERP and WMS

Ensure accurate inventory movements, COGS assignment, and reconciliation

Partner with Operations and Finance and external ERP team partners on further designing, building, and refining technical systems capabilities to meet Lola’s needs (ex.: ways to identify and handle things like presales, order exceptions, and more)

Prepare and test all systems to be able to comfortably handle peak sale spikes

Identify single points of failure and hidden scale limits

Design and implement: Better monitoring and alerting, Failure / retry strategies, Fool-proof, scale-proof inventory reservation and availability logic

Be the escalation point when vendors or systems fail

Act as the connective tissue between Ecommerce, Operations, Finance, and Analytics

Serve as Lola’s leader on cyber security topics, to ensure that all internal and customer data is secure

Ensure that all internal tooling is appropriate and optimized for Lola’s remote-first work environment

Translate cross-functional business goals into system requirements

Help define technology budgets, guardrails, and standards as the company grows

Over time, help shape a broader technology function (if/when needed)

Required

8+ years of experience owning systems in a consumer business at scale ($100M+), strong preference inside the Shopify ecosystem

Significant experience with wholesale order flows, EDI and non

Deep experience and familiarity in contemporary best practices across the Shopify ecosystem, ERPs (ideally beyond Netsuite), EDI integrations, PIM platforms, WMS / OMS / 3PL integrations, Customer-facing order platforms (NuORDER, etc.), Data warehousing & visualization tools, and a broad range of modern, API-driven platforms

Proven track record of designing for scale and reliability

Operating in lean, fast-moving organizations

Simultaneous ability to self-direct and drive results through individual work, partnerships, and agencies
