Distribution Center Manager
American Metals Supply, LLC is a rapidly expanding metals distributor headquartered in Tampa, FL, serving the southeastern United States. The Distribution Center Manager will oversee the operations of the Tampa distribution center, ensuring efficient warehousing and fleet management while maintaining high standards of inventory management and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize distribution center operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs
Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, supervisors, and other personnel to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback as needed
Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and prevent stockouts. Implement best practices for inventory management and conduct regular audits to maintain data integrity
Coordinate order fulfillment activities to meet customer demands and ensure timely delivery of products. Monitor order processing, picking, staging, and loading operations to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency
Oversee operations of the fleet, including scheduling, dispatching, and routing vehicles efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety inspections, and promote a culture of safety awareness among warehouse staff
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the distribution center. Implement continuous improvement initiatives, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive operational excellence across the organization
Develop and manage the distribution center budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring variances, and implementing cost-saving measures where possible
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
Proven experience in distribution center management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and fleet management best practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and other relevant technology platforms
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of driving process improvements
Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements in a warehouse environment
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands on, dynamic work environment and adapt to changing priorities
