The Ohio State University is seeking a Research Technician 3 for the Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role involves providing technical support for research and scientific investigations, including performing flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and assisting with lab maintenance and animal handling.

Responsibilities

Perform flow cytometry to sort patient samples and will serve as the point of contact for flow cytometry studies in the Bloomfield Center

Perform a variety of molecular, cellular and biological research techniques including PCR reactions, DNA and RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, Northern and Western blot assays, sample processing and library preparation

Assist with general lab maintenance and troubleshooting of new procedures as well as picking up patient samples from the tissue bank, tissue archives or patient rooms

Assist with handling of lab animals and routine procedures on lab animals such weight monitoring and administration of medication

Record research results, summarize data for publications and grant proposals and prepare research progress reports

Maintain accurate records and have good communication skills

Attend lab meetings and conduct literature reviews on requested topics
