The State of Missouri is seeking a Summer Intern for their General Services & Facilities department. The intern will perform routine entry-level activities in facilities maintenance and repair under direct supervision, assisting with various maintenance tasks and building inspections.

Responsibilities

Performs routine maintenance on building interiors, such as replacing light bulbs, switches and fuses; repairing windows and blinds; and installing floor and ceiling tile

Perform facility renovation, repair, and maintenance functions such as pouring and finishing concrete, roofing, painting and plastering, and installing carpet, sheetrock, and doors

Perform routine maintenance to plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems

Repair, move, and assemble file cabinets and furniture

Load and unload freight and deliver to appropriate offices

Perform maintenance to building exteriors and grounds, such as snow removal, mowing, trimming, and related activities

May assist with annual building inspections

Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned

Required

Enrolled in a relevant 2-year/associate's degree program (electrical, HVAC, building maintenance technology, etc.) full-time (12+ credit hours)

30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply

Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent
