The University of Bristol is seeking an academic appointment in Financial Technology at the Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will conduct research at the intersection of Fintech and AI and engage in teaching and administrative duties related to the MSc Financial Technology with Data Science.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Conduct internationally excellent research
Join our research group called the Financial Engineering Lab (FEL)
Research at the interface of Fintech and AI
Research in areas related to computational finance and financial engineering
AI for finance
Automated trading
Agent-based modelling of financial systems
Blockchain-based decentralised finance
Financial machine learning
Carry out excellent research-led teaching
Related admin duties to support MSc Financial Technology with Data Science
Leadership responsibilities across teaching and research

Required

Research work involves financial technology (e.g., AI for finance, decentralized finance, etc.)
Experience in teaching in financial technology or a strong desire to do so for lecturer level
Strong evidence of leadership in research, teaching and administration for senior lecturer/associate professor level
Demonstration of leadership potential for lecturer level

Preferred

Experience of large-scale data engineering on commercial cloud service stacks such as GCP, AWS, or MSAzure
Experience of decentralised application development in Ethereum blockchains
