The role involves the design, simulation, testing, and analysis of high-performance photonic integrated circuits for next-generation optical communication systems.

Responsibilities
Design and optimize high-performance photonic integrated circuits for optical communications
Perform electromagnetic and photonic simulations to evaluate and refine PIC designs
Develop and execute laboratory test plans to characterize PIC performance
Analyze experimental data and correlate results with simulations
Collaborate with fabrication partners and internal stakeholders to iterate designs
Contribute to continuous improvement of design and test methodologies
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field
Strong foundation in electromagnetic wave theory
Minimum of 2 years of experience designing photonic integrated circuits
Hands-on experience testing and characterizing PICs in a laboratory environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Programming experience in one or more of the following: MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and version control systems
Preferred
Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes
Experience designing silicon-photonics PICs
Strong understanding of optical communication systems
Knowledge of intensity-modulated direct-detect (IM-DD) and coherent communication systems
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
Prior industry and product development experience
