Commercial Legal Assistant
Gurstel Law Firm, P.C. is a multi-state litigation law firm representing creditors in all aspects of the legal collection process. The Commercial Legal Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of legal support tasks including preparing legal documents and maintaining standard operating procedures.
Consulting
Responsibilities
Complete complex legal tasks, in addition to legal support staff functions in all states in which the Firm operates
Assist in preparing files; review, draft, file, and serve legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
Follow, create, and maintain standard operating procedures
Demonstrates the Firm’s core values in interactions with co-workers, attorneys, clients, the courts, and consumers
Scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing
Legal data entry
Handle client inquiries
Ability to multitask
High level of attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, ability to prioritize deadlines and commitments
Ability to communicate in an effective manner
Strong customer service skills
Self-Starter and motivated
Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to extract information from the firm’s software to create reports or summaries for managing attorneys and or the Director of the Department
50+ WPM typing skills
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to bend, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds
All other duties as assigned

Background in civil litigation required
Preferred
Background in Creditors Rights Laws preferred
