College Intern - Employee Health & Safety- Summer 2026 (20057562)

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) oversees building and maintaining the nation's 5th largest interstate system and is seeking a College Intern in the Employee Health & Safety Department. The intern will assist with completing reports, gathering data, and observing safety practices to ensure safe work operations.

Responsibilities

Assist with completing required reports (e.g., district logs, monthly accident & injury reports)
Gather data
Complete reports using personal computer & software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
File safety forms in employee's accident & workers compensation files
Assist with accident investigations (e.g., reviews accidents & injuries to determine root causes)
Help observe workers for use of prescribed safety apparel (e.g., safety glasses, hard hats, goggles, vests, respirators) to ensure safe work & vehicle operation practices have been followed

Required

Enrolled in a college or university
In good academic standing
Able to provide proof of enrollment documentation including GPA
