Fire Testing Lead Technician

They are seeking an experienced Fire Testing Lead Technician to oversee inspection teams performing fire alarm testing, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and providing clear communication with clients. The role involves leading inspections, supervising staff, and documenting results while coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Lead and perform Title 19, NFPA 72 annual, semi-annual, and quarterly fire alarm system inspections
Test and verify operation of:
Smoke/heat detectors
Pull stations
Horns/strobes/speakers
Duct detectors
Waterflow & tamper switches (with sprinkler contractors)
Control panels, SLC/NAC circuits, and power supplies
Conduct testing for integrated systems such as elevators, HVAC shutdowns, fire pumps, and clean-agent systems
Supervise a team of inspection technicians and helpers
Train staff on testing procedures, documentation, safety, and system identification
Ensure efficient daily workflow and accurate device counts
Complete required California Title 19 State Fire Marshal forms
Accurately document deficiencies and communicate needed repairs to clients and project managers
Ensure all testing complies with NFPA 72, California Title 19, and local AHJ requirements
Coordinate onsite testing schedules with building engineers, facility managers, and security teams
Provide clear explanations of inspection results and deficiency repairs
Qualification
Required
3+ years' experience in fire life safety testing
Los Angeles Chief's Regulation 4 Certificate of Fitness (in one or more categories)
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance
Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily
Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations
Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and high-rise buildings
Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20+ pounds, daily
Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
