Cooperative Council of the Carolinas - Executive Director

Carrick Professionals is seeking a dynamic leader for the Cooperative Council of the Carolinas. The Executive Director will enhance member engagement, manage operations, and lead strategic initiatives to promote the cooperative business model.

Management Consulting

Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with member cooperatives to ensure retention and satisfaction
Develop strategies to attract new members and expand the Council’s reach
Travel across North and South Carolina to visit members, conduct on-site trainings and engage cooperatives as necessary
Manage membership records, renewals, and related administrative tasks using the Council’s Association Management Software
Work closely with the Board of Directors to implement strategic initiatives and provide transparent, timely communication
Prepare and present monthly Executive Director report and recommendations for operational improvements
Serve as the chief executive for all Council activities, including event planning, committee coordination, and staff/contractor management. This includes leading monthly virtual committee meetings
Oversee financial management, including budgeting and reporting
Plan and execute flagship events: Annual Meeting & Cooperative Conference, Cooperative Leadership Camp, Cooperative Dynamics Workshop
Execute social media strategy and content creation across multiple platforms to enhance visibility and engagement
Monitor legislative developments and communicate impacts to members
Seek grant opportunities to fund educational programs and strategic initiatives
Provide visibility to the Council and the cooperative business model to opinion leaders, media, members and the general public

Required

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, English, Communications, Business, Marketing, Government Relations, or related field
A minimum of four years' experience in communication, government relations, association management, non-profit or not-for-profit management required
Ability to lift 10 lbs. or more and stand for multiple hours at a time
Ability to travel approximately 20%-40% of the time

Skilled in member engagement and relationship management
Comfortable with digital tools and social media platforms
Strategic thinker with a proactive, self-starting approach
Confident, assertive, and adaptable to changing priorities
