Responsibilities
Counsel clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning instruments
Advise on asset titling and coordinated planning across accounts
Manage probate and trust administrations, including court filings and asset oversight
Advise fiduciaries on duties, compliance, and risk management
Support business succession planning in collaboration with other practice groups
Coordinate with clients’ accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals
Conduct legal research and maintain organized, accurate matter files
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for timely admission
Minimum of five years of focused trusts-and-estates experience
Strong drafting skills with close attention to detail
Working knowledge of federal transfer-tax principles and Illinois probate practice
Excellent judgment, organization, and client-service skills
Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with a team
