Responsibilities

Assists in Constructing, altering, maintaining, and repairing wood buildings, structures, partitions, panels and other items using wood, wood substitutes, and composite building materials
Use common hand tools and simple power equipment such as drills, circular saws, and sanders
Prepares work areas by staging materials, removing debris, installing simple supports, and ensuring clean and orderly conditions
Measure lumber, marks cutting lines, lay out guidelines and reference points following carpenter's instructions
Follows all safety procedures, wear PPE, and reports unsafe conditions

Required

U.S. Citizenship required
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties
You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards
You may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Government housing may be available
Ability to Do The Work of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Experience should be clearly described and documented in your resume
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions
Physical Demands: Duties require the incumbent to sit, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, work in uncomfortable positions, and possibly walk over rough, uneven terrain
The incumbent is expected to be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and may be expected to lift and/or carry items exceeding 50 pounds in weight
Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in both indoor workshops and outdoor work sites
